PlayStation 3 Slimline Harware Review

I've seen the commercial of the PS3 Slimline on TV the other day, I could imagine it had different features like any other PS3 model out there. So I've decided to do some digging around to see if I could find some hardware facts for you PS3 players to help you decide that if you should jump for the new Slimline version of PS3.

The PlayStation 3 Slimline has 120 GB Hard drive, 2 USB ports, and 802.11b/g WiFi. For it's special features it has Bravia Sync XMB control, and of courses the obvious one, it's size is smaller. It's approximate size is 290x65x290 mm (width x height x length). For those that is wondering which color it is available in, there is only the Charcoal Black color. Also not just the size of the all new PS3 has been reduced it's size, the price has been reduced by $100 in retail price to. There are a few other feature of the PS3 Slimline, that I have also typed up below in more of a list form, through Audio/Video details, it's size & weight, as well as what does it include when you buy one from an retail store.

Extra PS3 Slimline Hardware details:
Audio output: LPCM 7.1ch, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD, AAC.

AV output Resolution Support: 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i (for PAL 576p, 576i)

CD drive Maximum read rate: BD x 2 (BD-ROM), DVD x 8 (DVD-ROM), CD x 24 (CD-ROM)

Size: Approximate 290 × 65 × 290 mm (width × height × length)

Weight: Approximate 3.2 KG

Included: PlayStation 3 system x 1, Wireless Controller (DUALSHOCK 3) x 1, AC power cord x 1, AV cable x 1, USB cable x 1

There's some things I would of like to see on this console, but it actually doesn't, like playing PlayStation 2 games, and 4 USB plugs instead of 2 USB plugs. The slimline PS3 also doesn't have Third-party OS install, SACD playback, and Flash memory readers.

I don't have a PS3 yet but I am still in a way considering one of the 60GB PS3, mostly cause it could play PS2 games and has 4 USB plugs, again, since I already have a PS2 and I could probably get those USB adaptors so I could hook more devices that using a USB port, there are a varity of PS3 consoles out there now, and I know it's pretty difficult to choose which one because of their features, hope you find this review useful. ;)
